To the Guy Who Tried to Mug Me in Downtown Savannah night before last.

I was the guy wearing the black Burberry jacket that you demanded that I hand over, shortly after you pulled the knife on me and my girlfriend, threatening our lives. You also asked for my girlfriend’s purse and earrings. I can only hope that you somehow come across this rather important message.

First, I’d like to apologize for your embarrassment; I didn’t expect you to actually crap in your pants when I drew my pistol after you took my jacket. The evening was not that cold, and I was wearing the jacket for a reason.. My girlfriend had just bought me that Kimber Model 1911 .45 ACP pistol for my birthday, and we had picked up a shoulder holster for it that very evening. Obviously you agree that it is a very intimidating weapon when pointed at your head .. isn’t it?!

I know it probably wasn’t fun walking back to wherever you’d come from with that brown sludge in your pants. I’m sure it was even worse walking bare-footed since I made you leave your shoes, cell phone, and wallet with me. [That prevented you from calling or running to your buddies to come help mug us again].

After I called your mother or “Momma” as you had her listed in your cell, I explained the entire episode of what you’d done. Then I went and filled up my gas tank as well as those of four other people in the gas station, — on your credit card. The guy with the big motor home took 150 gallons and was extremely grateful!

I gave your shoes to a homeless guy outside Vinnie Van Go Go’s, along with all the cash in your wallet. [That made his day!]

I then threw your wallet into the big pink “pimp mobile” that was parked at the curb … after I broke the windshield and side window and keyed the entire driver’s side of the car.

Later, I called a bunch of phone sex numbers from your cell phone. Ma Bell just now shut down the line, although I only used the phone for a little over a day now, so what’s going on with that? Earlier, I managed to get in two threatening phone calls to the DA’s office and one to the FBI, while mentioning President Obama as my possible target.

The FBI guy seemed really intense and we had a nice long chat (I guess while he traced your number etc.).

In a way, perhaps I should apologize for not killing you … but I feel this type of retribution is a far more appropriate punishment for your threatened crime. I wish you well as you try to sort through some of these rather immediate pressing issues, and can only hope that you have the opportunity to reflect upon, and perhaps reconsider, the career path you’ve chosen to pursue in life. Remember, next time you might not be so lucky.

Have a good day!

Thoughtfully yours,
Alex

Taliban poisons female students

Posted by Jeni | Headline Happenings | Thursday 24 June 2010 4:13 am

61 Afghan girls were recovering at a hospital after they lost consciousness during school.

Reports agreed that the girls had been poisoned.

It is not an isolated incident. All told 88 students and teachers have been poisoned in numerous incidents in the last months.

The chief culprit in these cases seems to be the Taliban. For those of you who don’t know, the Taliban is a fundamentalist Islamic organization which believes, among other things, that girls shouldn’t be educated. They appear to have adopted poisoning as their means to discourage girls from any kind of serious learning experience.

The Taliban and other extremist groups in Afghanistan oppose education for girls, who were not allowed to attend school under the 1996-2001 Taliban regime. Though it was unclear if Monday’s incident was the result of an attack, militants in the south have previously assaulted schoolgirls by spraying acid in their faces and burned down schools as a protest against the government. Scores of Afghan schools have been forced to close because of violence. Fears of Mass Poisoning of Afghan Schoolgirls

To even refer to Islam as “religion” is sacrilegious what with this kind of behavior…

Smoking Bans: Update

Posted by Jeni | Headline Happenings | Saturday 12 June 2010 5:36 am

Denmark Update: From The Smoker’s Club, European Regional Director, Wiel Maessen, we have some GOOD NEWS from the Dutch. They have just had elections, and the party (VVD: The People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy) that is the strongest critic of their smoking ban has now officially captured the most seats of any party in their parliament!

Dutch Minister: Admits smoking ban is partial failure. Small bars, which are often unable to create the required separate zones for smokers and non-smokers, increasingly allow their clients to smoke indoors.

Bulgaria: EU Commissioner Scolds Bulgaria over Eased Smoking Ban. EU commissioner for health and consumer policy, John Dalli, has expressed regrets over the Bulgarian government’s decision to delay the full smoking ban in public places.

IA: Video: Lack of Enforcement of Iowa Smoking Ban.

MI: Law Banning Smoking On Beaches Ignored. Beachgoers are lighting up in the water and on the beach. Some don’t know the ordinance exists, others don’t care.

NC: Brunswick County rejects smoking ban on its land. Carter, a Sheriff’s Office detective, said the ban would be unenforceable.

NC: The owner of Gate City Billards Country Club will continue to allow smoking in his establishment.

OH: Clevelanders share a passion for a tasty meal on a cozy patio. Smokers have found a legitimate — and largely legal — public place to congregate. In the wake of the 2006 decision by Ohio voters to ban smoking in public buildings and workplaces, patios have become Ohio’s de facto smoking section.

“It is curious that physical courage should be so common in the world, and moral courage so rare.”

Angry Black Teacher Beats Student

Dis Be’s One Angry Black Teacher! I thought it was just white, gun-toting, constitution loving, pro Americans who got angry…and even at that I’ve never seen the likes of this!

Teacher-Beats-Student Video; Allegedly Lashed out After Student Teased Girl

HOUSTON (CBS/KHOU) When their teacher backed one of their classmates into a corner, students at a Houston-area charter school thought it was a joke – but it allegedly turned into a shocking and brutal beating that was caught on tape.

Gov’t BAD For Public Health

Posted by Jeni | Headline Happenings | Wednesday 12 May 2010 5:57 am

A county health department in Ohio has closed its doors because the facility is infested with fleas. Chipmunks and bats also have been spotted in the building.

The Fairfield County Department of Health shut its doors over a weekend so the building could be cleaned and fogged. It’s probably a good move…

BUT, the county health commissioner does not believe the bugs have posed a health risk.

Excuse me, would you say that again?

Of course it’s a good move! Isn’t it difficult to convince people to be sanitary when little beasties are bouncing all over?

Somehow the message seems hypocritical. Typically gov’t, 2010.

Another Noteable Note on Federal Gov’t Foolishness – you know those school free food frenzies? For Federal funds? The one’s our very own SASD uses to feed – free – 50 percent of purbic skool kids? Check out the latest research on this rip off:

With obesity becoming an epidemic among school-aged children in this country, a Georgia State University professor has found a link between overweight children and federal school nutrition programs.

Research reveals that children who eat lunch as part of the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) have an increased likelihood of becoming overweight, according to research…

Welfare Woman Laments Her Legacy

Posted by Jeni | Headline Happenings | Wednesday 5 May 2010 3:13 am

This is TRUE!!!  And she is upset that she has to ‘make do’

Meet Sharon:
Sharon

…in her Section 8 home!  Sharon Jasper has spent 57 of her 58 years dedicated to one cause and one cause only…

She has lived in Section 8 housing all but 1 of her 58 years.  It was a legacy passed down from her parents who moved into Section 8 housing in 1949 when she was six months old.  She has passed the legacy down to her children, but fears they may have to get jobs to pay for the utilities and deposits.

She laments about her one year hiatus from the comfort of her Section 8 nirvana, ‘I tried it for a year — you know, working and all.  It’s not anything I would want to go through again, or wish on anyone in my family, but I am damn proud of that year.’

Sharon  was moved out of her St. Bernard housing project after hurricane Katrina and into a new, yet albeit, substandard quarterage.  As can be noted from the above photo of her new Section 8 home, it is repugnant and not suitable for someone of Sharon Jasper’s seniority status in the system.  ‘Don’t be fooled by them hardwood floors,’ says Sharon .

‘They told me they were putting in scraped wood floors cause it was more expensive and elegant, but I am not a fool — that was just a way to make me take scratched up wood because I am black.  The 60 inch HD TV?  It may look nice but it is not plasma..  It’s not a plasma because I’m black.  Now they want me to pay a deposit and utilities on this dump.  ‘Do you know why?’

She has held her tongue in silence through the years of abuse by the system, but it came to a head at the New Orlean’s city council meeting where discussions were under way about the tearing down of the St. Bernard projects.  When a near riotous exchange between groups opposing the tearing down of St. Bernard and groups wanting the dilapidated buildings torn down and newer ones built,  Sharon unleashed verbal hell with her once silenced tongue.  The object of her oratory prowess was an acquiescent poor white boy in attendance.  The context of her scathing rebuke was, ‘Just because you pay for my house, my car, my big screen and my food, Medical needs. I will not be treated like a slave!’ and ‘Back up and Shut up! White boy Shut up, white boy!

Recapping from the log of the city council minutes; Sharon repines, ‘Our families have been displaced all over the United States.  They are being forced to commit crimes in cities they are unfamiliar with  It is a very uncomfortable situation for them  Bring them back, then let’s talk about redevelopment.’

Sharon directs the reporter’s attention across the street to Duncan Plaza  where homeless people are living in tents and states that, ‘I might do better out there with one of these tents.’  She further lamented her sentiments about her situation, ‘I might be poor, but I don’t have to live poor.’

Any wonder why this country is in the shape it is?

Public School Loss to Cyber Crime

Posted by Jeni | Headline Happenings | Monday 22 March 2010 4:11 am

Remember how our school district spent a fortune buying laptops for public schools – only to have them stolen from at least one school, Horace Mann?

Remember how SASD bought laptops for board members on our dime so they could “go paperless”? I was frustrated at the ignorance in all of this due to serious security concerns (they wouldn’t listen to them, however; after all, they know better than anyone in their minds). It was a reckless use of our tax dollars for many, many reasons, and as will often be the case, stories unfold that back up those concerns.

A public school district in Pennsylvania lost $700,000 in a two-day attack, and a county government in Kentucky lost $415,000 during a week-long attack of the Zeus keystroke-logging Trojan.

The Trojan enables the criminals to gain complete control of an infected computer, which they then use to impersonate the rightful owner and fraudulently authorize many high dollar value funds transfers, via ACH and traditional wire methods. More information about Zeus and other malware can be found in the following articles: “Crimeware: What I didn’t know” and “Modern banker malware undermines two-factor authentication“.

With every person the SASD (or any school district or other gov’t institution for that matter) gives a free laptop to, they are allowing those persons to access their system from those computers. Those computers could be unwittingly and alarmingly lacking in security, which  puts the public funds in serious jeopardy.

About the same time our spend-happy school board approved this reckless move, a school system lost nearly $700,000 and didn’t know it for 3 years:

…put $670,000 of taxpayer money into a bank account and used it for his vacations, his own credit card bills and to pay his office staff.

The money was supposed to go to the school system in 2004 and 2005, but no one in administration realized the money was missing until two months ago. That’s when they got a tip from one of the consultant’s disgruntled employees.

They lost almost $700,000 AND DIDN”T KNOW IT FOR NEARLY 2 YEARS – HELLO!

There was another incident in MI where the data from the Russian computers revealed that the conspirators had gained unauthorized control over numerous computers – including computers of a school district in St. Clair County, Michigan.  Trying to find a main-stream media report on this incident proved futile, but it is mentioned in a Justice.gov report.

Students even get into the act while the school districts act just as stupid as ours:  School district site hacked by two students – and the school district goes stupid

Public schools are spending fortunes, literally, on computer labs, laptops – for both school boards and students – and to what end? Yes, it’s imperative school children are educated with computers these days, but it isn’t imperative they be allowed to take them home,  that we give away internet access that allows this behavior, or that schools have laptops easily stolen, or that school boards be allowed to carelessy go “paperless” putting so much sensitive and personal data about so many at such high risk.  It’s reckless, irresponsible and outright stupid.

The Kneber botnet, or Zeus Trojan (one and the same) is still active. This problem isn’t going away – but our ignorance and apathy could if we’d only just sit up, take notice and act with some intelligence and sensibility…is that even possible in Sheboygan any longer?

Malware used in these cyber attacks is so well written that the traffic that steals the funds seems to be coming from an authorized computer – and (here’s the scariest part about giving out laptopspossibly is a legitimate computer that has been commandeered.

Public School Insanity Strikes Again: Here, Hold This.

Posted by Jeni | Headline Happenings | Sunday 7 March 2010 2:29 pm

You know those huge, sprawling schools that school unions/boards/teachers think are necessary to “teach the children”?

Well, let’s take a look inside what happens in one of those big, huge, embarrassing, obnoxious sprawling purbic skools.
Public School A school that takes up enough city space where 10, 15 (maybe more, depending) homes could be built, paying property taxes and working and doing business as city residents…

Rachael Greer, a 7th grader at River Valley Middle School in Jeffersonville, Ind., says she was in the locker room before gym class when another girl walked in with a bag full of pills and “she put one in my hand,” Greer said. “I was like, ‘I don’t want this’,  [do they have English teachers?] so I put it back in the bag and I went to gym  class.” She learned the “Just Say No” response from the school’s DARE program.

But later that day, she was pulled out of class by the vice principal and suspended for five days for “possession” of drugs under the school’s zero tolerance anti-drug policy. Greer “gave the pill back,” confirmed district spokeswoman Erin Bojorquez, “but it is in our policy that possession [includes] handling. She was punished because she handled the pill.

(Louisville Courier-Journal) …If school officials have no more ability than the school janitor, how come they’re paid more than the janitor?

And that poses as “public school education” these days…
